FAQ
The Gateway is for VCSE organisations across Wakefield District who meet our five key membership criteria. These apply equally to small, volunteer-led community groups and large national charities, and the Gateway has three tiers of membership to accommodate different sizes of organisation. There are no costs associated with being a member of the Gateway.
Gateway members must:
operate in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector
provide Health and Wellbeing services and activities in line with the four priorities set by the Wakefield Health and Wellbeing Board
be ‘locally-rooted’ in Wakefield District. By ‘locally-rooted’, we mean having a strong, sustained track record of local delivery, or strong connections with local community organisations, or having your registered office in the district
be committed to sharing skills, expertise and best practice
be committed to safeguarding
We use the term VCSE to refer to all kinds of organisations who are working in and with communities. This includes but is not limited to registered charities, CIOs, CICs, social enterprises and unincorporated groups.
